The Raimondo administration just announced that it will double 100! the tolls on another location. This bridge location is the Oxford Street toll gantry. The tax goes from 2.25 to 4.50.This is the second toll to be raised. The gantry on Rt 6 was raised 150 to 5.00 not too long ago. Expect more of these tax increases in the future. And expect them to spread to cars , as well. The RIDOT is spending money like water on projects across Rhode Island and the bill is coming due.When Democrat politicians rammed this through the General Assembly in 2015, despite the strong objections of hardworking Rhode Islanders, they gave the Director of the Department of Transportation total authority in setting the toll rates.The Director does not have to ask the legislature. He certainly doesnt have to ask the people who will end up paying for this 45 million tax added to the goods they purchase. He doesnt have to ask anyone.With this hefty increase. Raimondo is admitting that she lied to all of us. Her projections were false.
