It was an inspiring visit with Leah Arnold, Director, Career, Technical and Adult Education of Eastern Suffolk Board of Cooperative Educational Services ESBOCES and LI Manufacturing Task Force member. I had the opportunity to tour the facility and see the rigorous curriculum the staff implements. Eastern Suffolk BOCES prepares our students for the workforce and places emphasis on preparing them for college.

The key element in this program is whether the student aspires to work right out of high school or enter collegeuniversity, BOCES will provide them with the tools for both college andor career readiness. ES BOCES has a broad variety of programs within the Career and Technical track manufacturing and engineering as well as a focus on STEM Science, Technology, Engineering and Manufacturing curriculum. Academia is a critical element to the Manufacturing Task Force at both the primary and secondary levels.

The goal of this partnership is to create a bridge between the manufacturing sector and schools on the primary, middle and high school levels, a single path for a successful manufacturing workforce. I look forward to the growth and opportunities this Task Force provides our students throughout Suffolk County
