In the next two weeks, residents and businesses along, and near the North Temple corridor will see an increased SLC Police presence, including a new West Side bike squad and a temporary police sub-station. While crime is down city-wide and in the West Side districts down 26.5 in D1 20.1 in D2, the North Temple corridor has become a hot spot which we need to address.

This plan builds upon SLCPDs new beat model which allows officers to move quickly to address crime hot spots in the City. Our bike squad officers are incredibly nimble and produce results, accounting for a high proportion of felony arrests and getting guns off the streets.
