Encinitas house new global day of giving and unity as an emergency response

Today is GivingTuesdayNow, a new global day of giving and unity as an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19. We have created a fundraiser to support the amazing work of Nourish North County NNC, a community effort started by our seaster wheresgabs to support local food banks in North County San Diego at a time of unprecedented need. Gabi has been working tirelessly each week since this pandemic started, collecting monetary donations to purchase organic bread and produce from local businesses and farms and delivering it for distribution to the Ocean Knoll Elementary School in Encinitas and to Oceanside High School Food Banks on a weekly basis. This effort feeds local families while simultaneously bolstering struggling local businesses.These food banks were set up to feed the families of their students, but are not turning anyone away and are seeing the number of families who come for food rising every week. Ocean Knoll currently has about 240 families pass through each day, and Oceansides numbers likely surpass 1,000 families each day.
