The Diesel Mechanic is Responsible for performing comprehensive inspections, preventative maintenance, and minor repairs to ensure proper performance and safety of company vehicles. Assist with major mechanical repairs. Must have a full understanding of how to properly maintain commercial motor vehicles according to DOT regulations and is crucial to the safe and productive operation of the company fleet.

Perform assigned repairs and preventive maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrication, tune-ups, filter replacements, tire rotations, minor adjustments, etc.Complete required paperwork associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.Maintain accurate, updated preventative maintenance records.

Assist drivers in completion of the daily post-trip and vehicle safety inspection process.Identify damage and mechanical problems and perform repairs accordingly.Communicate issues with maintenance techniciansmanagersdrivers on company vehicles and discuss preventative techniques that may minimize future repairs.

Ensure shop equipment and tools are in safe operating condition.Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with Company and OSHA Standards.Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately.
