I enjoy investing in our community through service on the Escapees Care Board, the Livingston Lions Club, Webster Educational Foundation providing scholarships for Polk County Seniors, as well as Polk County Higher Education and Technology Foundation. We are actively involved with First Baptist Church in Livingston.

Reform the tax code to reduce taxation on small businesses and shift tax benefits away from very short term 5 yrs capital gains to tax breaks for the businesses that provide worker retraining and the trade schools that aid in that effort. In this way, the work force can more easily adjust to rapid technological change.

Stimulate the economy by removing the barriers to the growth of tourism here in the US. World wide travel to the US has been depressed for 2 decades by an antiquated and under funded visitor visa system and too much anti-foreigner sentiment being promoted by short-sighted politicians. Modernize the visa system and make it easier to visit the US by also providing infrastructure that eases travel within the US and provide translation infrastructure for foreign language speakers.
