During Hurricane Harvey in 2017, the city of Port Arthur had record flooding and mass amounts of displaced citizens trying to escape or reach safety. Tran worked over his regular hours as a Port Arthur Police Officer assisting the community. Tran saved many civilians in high flood conditions, carrying them out of their flooded homes to safety.

Tran assisted with the Red Cross staff, U.S. Army National Guards, U.S. Border Patrol, and U.S. Special Agents for the Fish Wildlife Services at the various P.O.D. point of distribution centers ensuring that citizens affected by Hurricane Harvey had essential supplies. Tran worked as a liaison between the Port Arthur Police Department and the Emergency Management team at the civic center shelter in Port Arthur.

Tran have worked at many of the hospitals, schools and apartment complexes in Port Arthur for 7 years. Tran have built a strong relationship with the Port Arthur community which has led to trust. Tran have worked and lived in Port Arthur, TX his whole entire life. Tran is committed to making a difference in the community.
