Fontana cars funds to renters and homeowners who have lost their jobs

Startling conversation with Larry Bird regarding the use of CARES ACT funds in Hesperia, and I am DISTRAUGHT!Hesperia received over 1.1 Million dollars in CARES act funding with VERY specific guidelines on how it can be used.Many California cities took advantage to help their residents

Fontana Fontana officials will distribute 988,000 in Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security, or CARES, Act funds to renters and homeowners who have lost their jobs, been furloughed or experienced a reduction in hours or pay as a result of measures implemented to slow the spread of the virus.

Is it just me, or does this bother anyone else that the CITY is using CARES ACT MONEY that is supposed to help the RESIDENTS of a CITY, and is instead spending it for an upgradeFACELIFT for themselves??? And all Larry could say in response was, we support our citizens and small businesses, taking care of city employees is our responsibility. Sorry, but how have you used OUR money from OUR taxes for US yet?

I have to say, initially I was not going to Vote for Larry because he lied and said he wouldnt raise our water rates, and then did anyway. I felt that lying was bad I cant trust someone who lies, but now it is CLEAR that not only is he a liar, but he CLEARLY does not know how to PRIORITIZE or have the RESIDENTS best interest in mind. As the Mayor, he has lead the city leaders to go on a personal shopping spree to upgrade things for the CITY instead of use our tax dollars for US, the people who it was intended for!
