Garner accounting agencies operating in our community

We need to support the funding of our Police, They have been actively defunded in favor of other items the commission has felt were more of a priority over the past 8 years. Resulting in a non competitive work place resulting in turnover, and difficulty in recruiting. Sheriff Kept doing the right thing giving back so they could pat themselves on the Back for Balancing a Budget, but they still will not make them whole with all the things they put off to help the county. This does not even include the Radio system which is decades old, out of date, and part of which are no longer serviceable, under a service contract. Putting both our Sheriffs and FIRE EMS at risk, and limits our ability to reach other agencies operating in our community on our citizens behalf.

We need to support the funding of our Fire EMS, both on Paid, and Volunteer sides of the house. Much like above, they have been funded only based upon the priorities of the commission, not on the priorities by working with those serving, both paid and Volunteer, as well as our community. The first step has been taken, and a plan has unveiled where we are today as a result of over a decade of neglect and underfunding of the service. Much of this has been done in the past with 2 assessments, both of which have been shelved. No attempt has been made to include anything in this plan into the 2021 Budget.
