Oneida County Legislator and Majority Leader George Joseph today announced his endorsement of Republican John Zielinski in this years election for State Assembly. Zielinski faces one term incumbent Democrat Marianne Buttenschon in the November 3rd General Election. The 119th District covers the cities of Utica and Rome, and the Towns of Floyd, Marcy and Whitestown in Oneida County, as well as the Town of Frankfort in Herkimer County.

The public health crisis has placed a veil over Albanys disastrous one-party rule, said Majority Leader Joseph. Weve seen dangerous legislation passed and executive orders issued without public debate or input from important stakeholders - from Bail Reform that puts a revolving door on our jails, to runaway spending without any concern for the long-term costs, to inconsistent policies about what can be open or closed during the pandemic.

Zielinski, 69, is a licensed Certified Public Accountant with extensive business and financial experience. He brings over 35 years of experience as a Chief Financial Officer, Corporate Controller and Vice President of Finance and Administration to the table. He possesses extensive senior financial, administrative management and problem solving experience that includes 4 years in public accounting, over 17 years in manufacturing, and 19 years with commercial, service and non-profit organizations.
