Boulder pets Sometimes I get yelled at for being too close

Neighbors, If you see something, say something.Dont be ashamed of wanting your community to be a clean and safe place to call home. Or better yet, post a photo with location on For those of you who havent noticed, illegal camping within the city of Boulder seems like its basically everywhere. Parks that Ive enjoyed for years have become no-go zones.

Many remain erected and populated during the day. Sometimes there is drug and alcohol use happening in broad daylight. Sometimes I get yelled at for being too close to their camp, ironically on space that we fund with our ever raising property taxes. I certainly have compassion for people who are struggling to get back on their feet. But sometimes I see drug paraphernalia including hypodermic needles, human feces, and other waste that should not be where my dog sniffs.

Ive seen people bathing in public bathrooms. Ive seen disorderly conduct that had no place whatsoever in a family park. And I have a problem with that, whether someone is housed, experiencing homelessness, or other. park spaces should be for everyone to enjoy. Its not about oppressing the rights of the homeless. There has be a balance between those rights and the health and safety rights of the broader community.

All these photos are from this week, and include hypodermic needle caps. I couldnt easily see the needles, but Im guessing they were tossed in the bushes without care for your child or pets safety. If you read this far, thank you. Please no trolls or homeless root causes. This is simply about keeping our parks safe for us, our children, and our pets. If you want to help, dont give money which typically feeds drug dependency. If you really want to help, open up your home andor yard to the campers and let them use your bathroom facilities. Or tell them about coordinated entry and ask why they are not staying at the homeless shelter - its not been full all year quote from Bob Yates, city councilman.
