We need to break ground on the Animal Shelter. This has been on the table, and off the table several times in a decade. The current location is in shambles, it is a danger to the employees, volunteers cannot participate due to its condition, and our animals are also not in the greatest situation possible. We should not lay blame on the staff of our shelter, they are working miracles with the heap and the location our Commission has had them working at for over a decade.

We should not carry debt in the Better Place Plan Fund, even if legal, this is not something most people even know when we discuss it on the campaign trail, nor did they understand it was a possibility when they voted to put it into the plan for 40 years, yes they leveraged the future of our BPP funds to build the Jail and it continues today at the cost of almost 1 million per year from BPP to fund the debt. They have done this leveraging for longer than the plan is approved which is an interesting thought. This needs to be accounted for in the general fund, and BPP funds need to be used for what everyone expected when it was passed.

I am for Maintaining Infrastructure, we cannot maintain the bridges and roads we have today, We have way underutilized utilities, and are looking to expand them again, while less than 30 of the people are willing or interested in connecting. We need to stop spending money on things the people do not want. In the end the maintenance of the current Expansions cost us due to little connectivity or income from those connections. While Bridges, and Roads are failing.
