When I was growing up I was a very active kid. I played soccer, tennis, fastpitch, track, anything that got me outside and my body moving. I had a strong mindset and would often push my body past its limits into injury. By the time 16, my mom would place 4 ibuprofen alongside my breakfast every morning. I thought I was stronger pushing past my pain. On the outside, I looked like the picture of health, but on the inside I was creating disease. My dependance to over the counter drugs caused a kidney stone at the age of 17. I felt betrayed by my body.

Through college, I pursued a degree in Exercise Science, still confident that exercise meant health. Even though I exercised often and played on the college tennis team, my body was breaking down and I started experiencing migraines, chronic stomach aches, and I was diagnosed with sports induced asthma. Here I was, thinking exercise was the answer to health and at the age of 20 my health was declining quickly. I didnt realize it at the time, but the things I enjoyed in life were taken from me. Due to my health, I had to quit playing tennis team, I had to quit all the things I loved doing.

After college, my passion in exercise led me to a job as a exercise rehab technician at a spinal corrective chiropractic clinic. Through my time there, I saw miracle after miracle as patients lives were transformed. This inspired me to work on my own spinal health through the clinics spinal rehabilitation program. I had been to traditional chiropractors before, but this was different. I wasnt looking for a miracle, but there was one in front of me. All the things that I had loved doing were restored to me. My migraines were gone. I was able to exercise without fear of injury and I wasnt worried about my body betraying me. I started playing soccer and tennis again. I felt compelled to become a corrective care chiropractic as my lifes work. And thats why Im a chiropractor today, not only as a Doctor of Chiropractic, but as a lifelong patient. My passion to help others heal stems from my own continued lifelong health journey and my passion to help others reach their maximum optimal health to transform their lives.
