Shoreline Cleaning

This effort is in collaboration with our friends at the Tourism Recreation Investment Partnership, Three Rivers Land Trust, Cube Hydro Eagle Creek Renewable Energy, City of Lexington Parks and Recreation, Yadkin Riverkeeper and High Rock Lake Clean Sweep and will focus on the shoreline of Abbotts Creek from Finch Park to the soon to be opened Abbotts Creek Paddle Trail Access at Hwy 47.

We have a special event planned for this cleanup and will be joined by the Three Rivers Landtrust Yadkin Chapter and the Three Rivers Landtrust Paddle Club for three options for this cleanup.

All participants will meet at the new Hwy 47 access at Abbotts Creek where there will be an option for a land based cleanup along Hwy 47 and the area around the bridge over Abbotts Creek, a water based cleanup with kayakers launching from the Hwy 47 access area cleaning up the banks of Abbotts Creek near Hwy 47 and an additional water based cleanup with paddlers launching from Finch Park on Abbotts Creek and paddling 5.2 miles to Hwy 47 cleaning up litter along the way.
