Springdale house feature an on-site industrial paper shredder

The event, which will feature an on-site industrial paper shredder, will provide the opportunity for households to shred up to five packing boxes of materials. The boxes will be returned to residents the shredding company will not keep nor shred boxes. All shredding takes place on site. Take a trip back in time to learn about the railroads that served the Newport area since 1873. From steam locomotives and streamlined passenger trains to the Van Noy eating house, Railway Post Office and telegraph, the Railroad History of Newport presentation will cover railroads from the original Cairo Fulton to the modern-day Union Pacific.Mike Sypult is a railroad historian from Rogers, Arkansas and currently serves as president of the Arkansas Boston Mountains Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society in Springdale. A native of Rogers, Mike is a graduate of Arkansas Tech University and Southwestern Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. Mike taught at the University of Arkansas for 15 years and developed the Whistle Stops West Elderhostel program Chicago, St. Louis and Kansas City by rail. Mike lives in Rogers and has 5 adult children and 4 grandchildren.
