San Leandro house would people think if they came into the house

I walk by the dreaded closet multiple times each day, and the thought of trying to clean out all the stored papers and old recipe books haunted me. I used to think that I needed to clear out that closet before I died. After all, what would people think if they came into the house and started going through it. Why would he keep all this crap? they would say. Maybe he was a closet hoarder? Then I realized, I wouldnt care. I would be dead. Then I thought it through further. Suppose I didnt die but wound up in an assisted living facility or a SNF? I would be forced to meet my demons.

So, this weekend I decided to confront my fears and go for it. The three elements of the title to this post gelled when I came across my notes from the League of Women Voters of Alamedas forum on district elections and recalled that the U.S. Supreme Court had recently decided a case Higginson v. City of Poway that challenged District elections as a way of curing an alleged violation of the California Voting Rights Act. The high court denied the petition to hear the case, and thus, affirmed that district elections were legal.

For those that are not familiar with district elections, the concept is pretty straight forward. Just as the State of California is divided up into counties and each county is further divided into cities, a city can be divided up into districts with each district being represented by the winner of the election where people who live in the district vote for the person to represent them on the city council. AND . . . the person must live in the district.
