This month we said goodbye to Salinas Police Officer Matthew Donatoni who leaves us to take a job with the Morgan Hill Police Department. Matthew worked patrol, assisted the K-9 unit and was an instructor for Whyd You Stop Me a nationally recognized community outreach program. He was awarded the California Highway Patrol 10851 CVC pin in recognition for his outstanding duty in the recovery of stolen cars. Unfortunately, we are losing officers like Matthew because our city refuses to keep our Department competitive with other agencies. Expect more as the City continues to push for pay cuts.
