If the village wanted to use room taxes to help fund some big strategic planning committee, they have 250,000 left over from what they dont give to Real Racine. The 75 they give Real Racine can only be used for tourism events and promotion.

The village president is attempting to make their impulsive and poorly considered decision look like it was planned and intentional. It was not planned. They voted to end the contract on the very last meeting date they were allowed under the terms of the contract - with almost no discussion in committee just days before the vote.

No input from the public or other municipalities was taken, and no stakeholders were consulted. Who told them this was a good and feasible idea? What experts did they ask? The answer is easy. They didnt talk to anyone first.
