Newport Beach is a seaside town in Orange County, Southern California, 35 miles (56 km) southeast of downtown Los Angeles. The city is named after the American businessman Henry E. Huntington. The population at the time of the 2010 census was 189,992, making it the most populous beach town in Orange County and the seventh most populous city in the Los Angeles-Long Beach-Anaheim, California statistical area. It is bordered by the Bolsa Chica Basin State Marine Reserve to the west, the Pacific Ocean to the southwest, Seal Beach to the northwest, Westminster to the north, Fountain Valley to the northeast, Costa Mesa to the east, and Newport Beach on the southeast.
Huntington Beach (locally referred to as "Huntington") is known for its 9.5 miles (15.3 km) long sandy beach, mild climate, excellent surfing, and beach culture. Ocean waves are amplified by a natural effect caused by the diffraction of the edges of the open ocean waves around Santa Catalina Island. Waves, originating mainly in the North Pacific in winter and a combination of storms and hurricanes in the Southern Hemisphere in summer, focus on Huntington Beach, creating constant surf throughout the year, hence the nickname "Surfing City."
Newport Beach, a coastal city in southern California, is known for its large harbor filled with boats. The Balboa Peninsula has 2 piers, Newport Beach Pier and Balboa Pier, as well as the Balboa Amusement Zone, a historic amusement park with a Ferris wheel and ocean views.
The city is renowned for its luxurious lifestyle and beautiful surroundings. It is located on the Pacific coast and is a favorite destination for surfers. Wedge, located at the end of the Balboa Peninsula, is famous for challenging surfing, but Newport's miles of wide beaches offer plenty of room for everyone but the busiest summer weekends. A concrete boardwalk runs along the beach east of Balboa Pier and west of Newport Pier.
Orange County, California, as beautiful as it looks on TV? Shows like OK, Laguna Beach and Real Housewives OK all look like a beautiful dreamland in Southern California. We wanted to know if this was true. Irvine and Buena Park are 45 minutes by car from our hometown of Los Angeles. We decided to take a trip and check out everything that Irvine and Buena Park had to offer. One of our favorite places to visit is Knott's Berry Farm. During October, Knott's transforms into Knotts Scary Farm, a haunted amusement park that will scare you all the time. During our stay in Irvine and Buena Park, we experienced some amazing things like booze at Hello Kitty Bar, delicious food, trekking stunning trails, and Pedego electric bike rental.
If you want to spend your vacation just steps away from the sand, check into Newport Beach hotels like Doryman's Inn, Newport Beachwalk Hotel or Balboa Inn, where you can almost taste the saltwater. From here you can walk to most of Newport Beach's attractions and restaurants, making them convenient for tourists.
Many Newport Beach homes are also available for vacation rentals, and some have ocean views! One of the most popular rental companies in Newport Beach is Burr White, located on Newport Boulevard.
You can travel around Newport Beach at any time of the year, but the best time to visit is in the summer. You can walk along the boardwalk, play volleyball on the beach, or surf on Klin, the world-famous surfing spot on the outskirts of the Balboa Peninsula.
For softer waters, visit the Newport Dunes for paddle surfing or pedal boats. This is a great place to stay if you have a mobile home and cottages are also available for overnight stays.
