Santa Barbara is a coastal city in California. Situated on a south-facing section of coastline, the city is nestled between the Santa Ynez Mountains and the Pacific Ocean.
Stearns Wharf is a pier at the cross-section of the end of State Street and Cabrillo, in the harbor in Santa Barbara, California, United States. When completed In 1872, it became the longest deep-water pier between Los Angeles and San Francisco.

The population of the entire county in 2010 was 423,895.
The city, in addition to being a popular tourist and resort destination, has a diverse economy that includes a large service sector, education, technology, health care, finance, agriculture, manufacturing, and local government. In 2004, the service sector accounted for fully 35% of local employment. Education, in particular, is well-represented, with four institutions of higher learning on the south coast (the University of California, Santa Barbara, Santa Barbara City College, Westmont College, and Antioch University).
The Santa Barbara Airport serves the city, Santa Barbara Aviation provides jet charter aircraft, and train service is provided by Amtrak, which operates the Pacific Surfliner (which runs from San Diego to San Luis Obispo). U.S. Highway 101 connects the Santa Barbara area with Los Angeles roughly 100 miles (160 km) to the southeast and San Francisco around 325 miles (525 km) to the northwest. Behind the city, in and beyond the Santa Ynez Mountains, is the Los Padres National Forest, which contains several remote wilderness areas. Channel Islands National Park and Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary are located approximately 20 miles (32 km) offshore.
Shoreline Park, a long, narrow ocean-side strip of land on top of a mesa (coastal bluff), is located in Santa Barbara, California, USA. Facing the Pacific Ocean, Shoreline Park is one of Santa Barbara's most popular parks.
The park includes a playground, picnic area, a whale watching area with a telescope situated next to a statue of a large concrete whale tail, as well as a sister city Japanese garden. The park also provides a clear view of the Channel Islands on a good day, and Gray Whale may be observed during their migration months, along with a number of marine mammals including dolphins and seals.
However, restorations have returned it to its original grandeur, with its grand twin bells on the hilltop, overlooking the city, the ocean and the Santa Yanez mountains are the number one stop for me. The mission is open daily for self-guided tours and the locals that I chatted with say they enjoy picnicking in the rose garden at sunset, something that I'll have to make time for on.
Two wine tasting Santa Barbara wine country is quite literally sideways, uniquely situated in the valley between the san Yanez mountain range and the San Rafael, mountain range, funneling, cool, pacific, air and marine layer over the vines it makes for a great day trip from Santa barbara.
But if you can't make it up to san Yanez, the Santa barbara urban wine trail is a great option, as you can walk from tasting room to tasting room with tastings from ten dollars to twenty-five dollars.
