Brentwood house riven to serve his country following

This past session, with the help and support of the Natchez Trace Bridge Barrier Coalition and Trish Merelo, that recognized the suicidal health crisis at the Natchez Trace Parkway Bridge and extends the General Assemblys full support to our federal delegation by encouraging and working with the National Park Service to erect barriers on the portion of the bridge above State Highway 96

Today the House of Representatives unanimously passed a Resolution H.R. 5412 renaming the Brentwood Post Office located at 25 2nd Avenue for Army Specialist Jose Ruiz. I was proud to sponsor this legislation for SPC Ruiz a true American hero who was killed in a firefight in Mosul

Jose Ruiz, a graduate of Brentwood High School, was working as a computer networks engineer when he was driven to serve his country following the 911 terrorist attacks and enlisted in the Army. He was a member of the elite Stryker Combat Brigade out of Fort Lewis, Washington. During his service in Iraq he was awarded numerous medals and decorations for his courage on the battlefield, including the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. SPC Ruiz was killed in action on August 15, 2005. He was 28 years old.

Specialist Ruiz left behind his wife Alexa and beautiful daughter Liana, his parents Eduardo and Juliana, his sister Rosa and his brothers Alexander and Eduardo, Jr.I introduced this legislation to celebrate SPC Ruizs memory, honor his sacrifice and secure his place as a role model for future generations.
