Chico travel cities to clean up needles being left

Why should residents in Oroville and Gridley care about the free needle distribution program in Chico? Because the free needles being handed out in Chico are being found in Oroville, Gridley and throughout Butte County. Even worse, the organization passing out the drug use kits are refusing to travel to surrounding cities to clean up needles being left in our public spaces. To make matters worse, police officers are being dispatched to collect discarded needles in Chico because the NVHRC group wont answer the phone. This is incredibly alarming. I dont see how anyone can say this is somehow benefitting Chico or Butte County.

just after midnight, a citizen was driving in the area of Notre Dame Blvd Forest Ave when he noticed a large black bear in the roadway near Lowes Home Improvement at 2350 Forest Ave. The bear had wandered from the street to the parking lot where it appeared to be frightened by the citizens vehicle. The bear ran to the Les Schwab Tire Center and climbed a large Sycamore tree in the parking lot. CPD Officers arrived within 2 minutes and cordoned off the area from citizens.

Officers at scene summoned help from the California Department of Fish Wildlife shortly after arrival. Within 30 minutes, three California Fish Wildlife Officers arrived to assist. They took over the scene about 20 minutes later. The bear remained in the tree for several hours.
