Denver tour might never have realized his love

Music career seriously at a young age, enrolling at Warren Tech for digital audio production during his senior year of high school. Drake saw the importance of learning studio skills on top-notch equipment, as well as the creative benefit of being surrounded by other flourishing studio musicians, which led him to CU Denver. Working in our recording arts department, Drake has been able to help countless other students on their projects.

He even helped rebuild one of the recording studios from start to finish. Without this hands-on experience, Drake might never have realized his love for working with musicians and bringing their music to life through recording. His experience has given him the confidence and skills to work as an audio engineer for live music venues across Colorado 15 different venues and counting, including Red Rocks. Drake would love to develop a fast-track to assist other Warren Tech students looking to enroll at CU Denver so more people interested in the music industry can benefit from pursuing a degree like he has. Look for Drake when he goes on tour with De La Soul as their monitor engineer, kicking off at SXSW this weekend a gig he landed after running sound for the band at Red Rocks last month.
